Ireland have made two changes to their starting XI for Saturday's Women's Six Nations match against England at Twickenham, bringing in center Aoife Dalton and second-rower Hannah O'Connor.
Enya Breen was dropped to the bench and co-captain Sam Monaghan was left out of the squad for the game.
“Sam hasn't fully recovered yet. He hasn't hit his markers of readiness yet,” Ireland coach Declan Danaher said.
“It gives Hannah an opportunity to step in, which is great.”
“This just shows the depth of the team,” the defensive coach added.
Fullback Meave Deeley was drafted to replace head coach Scott Beamand.
Ireland will be looking to build on last weekend's impressive 36-5 victory over Wales in Cork
The Irish's first win of the season, which saw them lose to France and Italy, moves them up to third in the standings, but Beemand knows there will be a tough test ahead against the defending champions and teams above the table. There is.
“We got another chance to perform as a group in a great stadium with a big crowd. We're building momentum in training and in matches. This is the kind of thing we want against the best teams. “It's a test,” Beemand said.
“We want opportunities like this to become the norm and our players are excited about the opportunity in front of them. Judging by the intent of the training and the competition for selection, the players are ready. it's finished.”
