The applicant must be the recipient of AHFC Public Housing Rental Subsidy Through the AHFC Housing Voucher Program or as a resident of an AHFC-owned unit.

Adults can also apply if they wish. Attending a vocational, commercial, or academic school.
- High school students can also apply If you plan to attend a vocational school, vocational school, or academic school in the fall semester of 2024 after graduating from high school.

application process
The application period for 2024 is Open from April 15th to May 31st, 2024 until 5:00 PM Alaska time. Along with your application, you must provide the following:
- 2 letters of recommendation: These should be from a teacher, employer, estate manager, caseworker or friend explaining why they support your application.
- essay: You will be asked to describe your education, occupation, financial goals, and participation in community and other subsistence activities.
- Educational background: This requirement is only for continuing students currently attending high school, vocational school, vocational school, or university. If you are a high school senior applying for admission to a higher education institution, submit a copy of your most recent transcript. If you are already attending a higher education institution, please attach your most recent transcripts.
