WASHINGTON — The Black Health Summit, sponsored by the nonprofit health advocacy organization Black Health Matters, held a free event Saturday for the D.C. community.
The health summit, held at the Kellogg Conference Hotel in the Northeast, brought together numerous medical professionals from multiple disciplines under one roof and aimed to provide Washingtonians with the resources they need. Summit organizers also sought to raise awareness about the importance of health counseling and community.
The event featured panels covering a wide range of topics. From donor kidney transplants to the importance of mental health, the Black Health Summit offered private conversations to draw attention to unspoken health topics and push aside bias.
