For the past 48 years, the Collegiate Women's Athletic Awards (CWSA) has annually presented the Honda Sports Award to the top female athletes in 12 NCAA-recognized sports. It stands for “the best of the best in college athletics.”
Vazquez Montaño, a native of La Paz, Mexico, was a finalist for the Honda Award last season and has won back-to-back CSCAA Diver of the Year awards. He swept the national titles in the 1-meter diving and 3-meter diving for two years in a row. She is an 11-time CSCAA All-America honoree and has received First Team All-America honors five times.
Vazquez-Montaño was a repeat ACC champion in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events, winning seven individual ACC championships during his four-year career at Carolina.
The sports award winners will be named Collegiate Female Athlete of the Year and finalists for the prestigious 2024 Honda Cup, which will be presented live on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7:00 PM ET. . New home in New York City.
The swimming and diving finalists were selected by a panel of experts and coaches from the American College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA). Winners of the Honda Sports Award for Swimming and Diving are announced after voting by administrators from more than 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has the right to vote.
