Blizzard Technica is proud to announce the awarding of the 2023 Hilary Nelson Women2Women (W2W) Education Scholarship. This is her fourth annual scholarship for women who want to advance their snowsports education. More than 550 women applied from around the world, and the brand selected 17 winners to award them more than $20,000 in scholarships and Blizzard Technica equipment.
The grant coursework, which ranges from AIARE 1 to AMGA ski guiding, represents a combination of recipients' personal and professional goals, which global program director Leslie Baker-Brown said was a key factor. I felt that there was. “Education is a key pillar of our Women2Women program,” said Baker-Brown. “Building confidence and creating opportunities for women to advance into leadership roles in the snowsports industry is so important. When women see what other women have achieved, anything is possible and we all It instills the belief that there is room for.”
As part of the submission process, applicants were instructed to share their reasons for applying for the scholarship. After reviewing all submissions, we found a clear theme of wanting to create more inclusive and accessible spaces for women and the next generation.
“I continue to believe that we never stop growing into who we are today. We hope to set an example for others that despite financial barriers, it is a viable and rewarding life choice. By furthering our Avalanche education, we are able to pursue leadership roles that would otherwise be difficult to achieve. I am able to mentor and support other women who may not have considered pursuing it.”
