President Trump's golf club “equipment”
Aronwald wrote in the memo that he has been serving as President Trump's personal physician since 2021. Unknown at the time, Aaron Wald was also a member and frequent visitor to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, the Post reported.
It's unclear exactly how long Aaron Wald has been with Trump's golf club. Still, the paper noted that the doctor is a long-time member and other club members say he visits regularly and can be seen spending time with the former president.
“I see him all the time when I'm sitting around the pool,” a club member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Post about Aronwald. “He's a classic.”
Spokespeople for Mr. Aaronwald and the Bedminster club did not respond to requests for comment.
“There is no need for President Trump to release another medical report on top of his recently released medical report,” the doctor told the paper, adding that Trump is “physically strong, cognitively sharp, and overall… He is in good health,” he added.
Ira Monka, president of the American Osteopathic Association, told the Post that Aronwald is one of New Jersey's “top concierge physicians.” Some patients told the newspaper that Aronwald was not someone who expressed political views.
Aaronwald's last political contribution was in 2015, when he donated $1,000 to former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's presidential campaign, according to the newspaper.
President Trump's history of 'excellent' health
Before Aaron Wald, President Trump relied on the former president's longtime physician, gastroenterologist Harold Bornstein, to provide health reports to the nation. Mr. Borstein passed away of unknown causes in January 2021.
Bornstein's memo was notable for its hyperbole, describing Trump's health as “amazingly excellent” and his stamina as “extraordinary,” The New York Times reported.
“It is clear that if elected, Mr. Trump would be the healthiest person ever elected president,” he wrote.
After President Trump was elected in 2016, he had ambitions to become the White House physician, but his ambition to become the White House physician ended in 2017 when he revealed to the Times that he was taking hair growth-promoting drugs. Hopes were dashed.
Bornstein said Trump dictated a 2015 letter declaring him in good health after their relationship soured.
President Trump's press secretary did not respond to requests for comment sent over the weekend.
