BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Four Baldwin County High School seniors were recognized this week at a ceremony honoring future teachers.
Molly Carruthers, Jameia Brooks, Deliana Bishop and Whitney Jernigan pledged to pursue careers in education as part of Baldwin County High School's Future Teacher Signing Day, according to a press release. .
At the ceremony, each student shared their college and career plans.
Molly Carruthers, Jameia Brooks and Deliana Bishop will attend Coastal Alabama Community College, according to the release.
Whitney Jernigan plans to attend Troy University.
“We are proud to be a part of this program,” said Chantel McPherson, a BCHS teacher and advisor to Future Teachers of Alabama. “Your mission is to educate and inspire the next generation. This is an important mission and one that cannot be taken lightly.”
“Your mission isn't just to teach math, science, reading, English, and history. You're teaching life and inspiring students to achieve their goals,” McPherson added.
