Mark Williams will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in Sunday's Tour Championship final after a 10-5 win over Mark Allen.
The Welshman won the first nine frames in Manchester and completed his third century, including a break of 140 in the ninth frame.
World No. 3 Allen won five frames in a row and threatened a comeback.
But Williams held his own and won the crucial No. 10 slot to advance to his first Tour Championship final.
The 49-year-old Williams found her rhythm with a break of 99 in the third frame, then hit back-to-back centuries in the next two frames to take a 5-0 lead.
He cruised through the next four frames and took a 9-0 lead with a fine break of 140.
However, Allen showed resilience, scoring five half-centuries and suddenly returned to contention at 9-5.
But Williams made sure to thwart an unlikely comeback as he topped 75 points to set up a showdown with O'Sullivan.
The 48-year-old British athlete will aim to add to the five tournaments he has already won this season.
O'Sullivan, the 2019 Tour Championship winner and world number one, defeated Gary Wilson 10-7 on Friday to advance to the final.
The 6th Tour Championship started in 2019 as a tournament for the top players in the rankings over the course of a year.
