Northeastern State University College of Education's Summer Youth Academy will be held on the Broken Arrow Campus and registration is now open.
Each year, an academy has been offered through NSU to support children's learning and socialization during the summer holidays.
NSU Continuing Education Program Coordinator Anthony McCarty said, “We are pleased to be able to expand the camp size and include more children this year.” “Last year we had over 600 camp participants, and we are planning to do the same this year.”
Campers can participate in a variety of themed camps, including Sea Saga (ages 4-5), Minecraft (ages 6-8), and Welcome to Hogwarts (ages 9-12).
The camp is divided into age groups, which begin on June 3 and each last one week. Registration fee is $150. The participant will be provided with all materials and his T-shirt, plus two snacks each day. A parent must be present in the camper on the first day of camp to sign in.
Drop-off time for participants is 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, and camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early drop-off options for parents are available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., and late pick-up options are from 4 to 5 a.m. Afternoons cost $25 per week covering both options.
Details for the Tahlequah Campus Summer Youth Academy event will be announced at a later date.
