Savannah Inc.'s Hungry Club Forum (HCFS) “Harnessing the Power of Collaboration on Today's and Tomorrow's Issues” will be held in the lead-up to Chatham County's important countywide election primary on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 will be done. Special signature roundtable and public forum titled “Voter Education, Candidate Platforms, and the Consequences of Voter Apathy and Departure.” The popular bipartisan breakfast forum will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 9:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room of his WBS YMCA, 1110 May Street.
This forum is open to the public and co-sponsored by: savannah tribune (Tribune). According to Shirley B. James, Publisher of the Savannah Tribune says it is extremely important to do everything possible. Voter apathy and voter defection are his two main elements that can lead to autocracy and dictatorship. We want to encourage voters to ask themselves and those they care about: “Do I value personal freedom, or would I want it taken away?” I am. It may be closer than you think!
Diana Harvey Johnson, HCFS Founder and Principal Consultant, said the HCFS Board of Directors would like to let the community know that this is the time to focus on the May 21st election and the November general election. Each candidate listed on every ballot should be given the courtesy of being “heard.” To this end, HCFS invited all opposition candidates to introduce themselves and their platform at the April 6th forum.
Roy L. Jackson, Third Vice President and Political Action (PAC) Chair of the Savannah Branch of the NAACP, will also join Johnson as co-chair of the open forum. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for people in our community to come together to listen to candidates, share their visions, ideas, and concepts, and create dialogue for the advancement of our community. We aim to provide information, enlightenment, and interaction with people who live and work in the region. Please join us in this very important community issues and information forum. The Rev. CJ Holliman, pastor of St. Philip AME Church, will provide prayers and blessings.
As an additional service, the Savannah Tribune will host an on-site private space where information, redetermination, and enrollment will occur to comply with Georgia's new Medicaid requirements and guidelines. If you know someone who receives or is eligible for Medicaid but is not enrolled due to retirement or new requirements, please encourage them to come to a reserved booth and enroll. Registration deadline is May 2024.
