A storm headed toward the Boston area this week will bring rain, wind and possibly heavy snow to parts of Massachusetts. Here are the latest forecasts from the WBZ NEXT weather team.
Boston – Looks like it was a great weekend difficult to get Recently. Even though it was raining and the temperature was colder than average, the urge to go outside was significantly suppressed.
That wasn't the case this weekend. Saturday saw near-perfect sunshine with highs in the mid-50s at most locations. The only downside was the nasty wind. Overall, I think it was pretty good!
easter sundayFor the most part, temperatures were mild in the 50s for a repeat of all the good things Saturday.
Massachusetts storm timeline
The influential system will appear on Tuesday and last until the beginning of Friday.
It initially comes as rain, but as the system moves off the coast and intensifies, colder air is drawn into the mix. This switch will take place from Wednesday to Thursday.
How much rain and snow does it get in Massachusetts?
Widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible, especially in eastern and southeastern Massachusetts, where the storm will remain wet for most of the storm. Our sodden backyards and basements still haven't dried out from the last storm (or last year's storm). That's a problem), yet another storm could come and cause the sump pump to start working again.
Boston will likely stay warm enough for most of the storm to fall as rain, but that won't be the case in the West.
Locally heavy snow will be most likely from Worcester and Middlesex counties to the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire.
Across the region, all of the northern New England resorts will receive heavy snowfall that will extend the season a bit more.
Strong winds will hit the Massachusetts coast
Wind effects will increase quickly Wednesday night into Thursday. The storm will deepen, with occasional wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph hitting the coast.
I don't think coastal flooding will be a big concern because the tides are astronomically low, but the coast will definitely be hit hard by erosion.
WBZ has Report on coastal replenishment project The same location needs to be taken care of as this storm can definitely have an impact. additional damage.
If there's a silver lining to this storm, it's that this pattern will likely “unravel” over the next 10-15 days. Perhaps he really could be in the 60's or 70's.
