The reigning champion No. 3 LSU Tigers are scheduled to play the No. 2 UCLA Bruins on Saturday matinee for the right to advance to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
The Tigers come into the game fresh off an 83-56 win over Middle Tennessee on Sunday and in the midst of a feud between lightning rod head coach Kim Mulkey and the Washington Post. On the floor, Fraujai Johnson led the game with 21 points. While in the press room, Mulkey took advantage of the looming coverage to deflect from his team's slow first half.
“No, listen, we're not going to let one sleazy reporter distract us from what we're trying to do. Absolutely not,” Mulkey said.
The Bruins travel to Albany after defeating Creighton 67-63 on Monday behind a team-high 24 points from Kiki Rice.
