This is Hollywood. 700 million dollars, a bigoted interpreter, illegal gambling, an innocent baseball player, and a massive agency investigating it all. Throw in a new bride and you have a great Tarantino movie. Kill Bill Volume 3.

Can you please stop comparing Shohei Otani and Pete Rose! No one claims he bet on baseball or any other athletic event. In Pete's case, it was talked about that he was always gambling/betting on sporting events, and it was eventually proven that he was betting on baseball and his Cincinnati Reds.

The amount of work I have to do to send money anywhere is ridiculous, yet Ohtani is going to tell us that several wire transfers of $500,000 each were made without your knowledge? Why do translators have such access to your account?
It makes no sense. You may not have placed the bet, but it's hard to believe that this money flowed out of your account and you had no idea who it went to.

Having taught a college course on this subject, I know that one of the main purposes behind press conferences is to have two-way communication. Otherwise, you can simply make a statement. The weak Los Angeles media should have pushed back on the Dodgers and said, “If Ohtani won't answer questions, he's not going to bother sending reporters and film crews.'' Shame on the media for going along with it, and kudos to Dylan Hernandez for writing a follow-up column. Where is Howard Cosell when you need him?

Bill Plaschke's column about believing (or not believing) in Ohtani was spot on. I'm a lifelong Dodgers fan, and as much as I'd like to believe that baseball's unicorns are simply that, they still have far too many flaws.

I am appalled and disgusted by the insulting comments made by many readers questioning Shohei Otani's involvement in Ippei Mizuhara's gambling. When I heard Otani's statement on March 25th, I thought he was sincere and trustworthy. So the gist of the story so far is that Otani's best friend betrayed him. There remain some questions that we all want answered, but in the meantime, unless there is reliable evidence to refute his account, I think Ohtani deserves our support and trust. Cynics, trolls, and haters should refrain from making reckless speculation.

please give them a chance
I disagree with Bill Plaschke and Jack Harris. He wrote that the Dodgers had only one season left to secure their place in history, and anything short of a championship was a failure. It will take them the next 10 years to cement their place in history, but who would be upset if they won a championship or two in that time?

“This has to be the best season in Los Angeles Dodgers franchise history,” Plaschke said for the first time. He's also right when he says, “You can't stop the Dodgers.” Except for these Dodgers. ”
For some reason, I'm sure Dave Roberts will ruin everything. He's been a top talent every year for the past decade, appearing in three World Series and winning just one.

here we go again. It's a season where expectations for the Boys in Blue are high. In other seasons, I sat in expensive seats behind the plate and watched as so-called fans were glued to their phones or taking selfies while the action was happening. The season also involves endlessly coming up with meaningless statistics and listening to Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser drone on and on without ever having anything negative or controversial to say about the Dodgers. I think I'll probably just watch the Angels.

New season, same Halos
The Angels' season opener looked familiar! The only real stars were Mike Trout, who pitched poorly due to Arte Moreno, and Anthony Rendon, who couldn't hit out of a wet paper bag.

Over the past 50 years, I have attended hundreds of Trojans football games and watched many great players such as Anthony Davis, Marcus Allen, Reggie Bush, and Caleb Williams, just to name a few. I have witnessed it. Their accomplishments pale in comparison to the frenzied atmosphere at Galen Center created last weekend by the unparalleled genius of JuJu Watkins.

How exciting for USC and its star JuJu Watkins to advance to the Sweet 16 of the women's NCAA Tournament. Considering the Times' report, it can only be assumed that the UCLA women's team was eliminated.
