The sport climbing category consists of three formats: boulder, speed, and lead. According to Paris 2024, the boulder competition will test an athlete's ability to climb a 4.5-meter-high wall in the fewest possible times within a set time without ropes. This speed event is designed to showcase athletes' precision and explosiveness over a 15-meter-high wall that features a 5-degree incline. In the lead event, the athlete must climb a 15-meter wall as high as she can in six minutes, without checking the potential route beforehand.
After a successful debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, skateboarding is back on the menu in Paris, with two of the most popular sports taking place in the parks and on the streets. Each event category consists of his two rounds, and the judges scrutinize the contestant's most impressive tricks, taking into account difficulty, speed, and range of movement.
After the inaugural event at Tokyo 2020, the Paris surfing event will be held outside of France at the legendary Te Aupoo Wave in Tahiti.
