Free agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds will sign a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos worth up to $14 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
Reynolds' addition comes after the Broncos traded wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns earlier this month. Reynolds joins a deep chart that includes Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr. and Tim Patrick.
Reynolds has been a consistent target for quarterback Jared Goff over the past few seasons, providing a veteran presence within the Detroit Lions' receiving corps. He had 40 catches for 608 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.
His total yards on the final drive of the final game of the regular season were significant because they triggered a $250,000 bonus clause if he exceeded 600 yards for the season. His total was the third highest on the team.
At the NFL's annual league meeting in Orlando, Fla., this week, Lions general manager Brad Holmes said he would like to re-sign Reynolds.
“He is someone who was part of the original [free agent] “The dialogue is still ongoing, but we'll see how it goes,” Holmes told reporters. But at this point, this is the only thing left that was originally planned. ”
Reynolds, 29, was claimed in November 2021 after being waived by the Tennessee Titans. He signed a two-year extension with the Lions before the 2022 season.
Reynolds, a fourth-round draft pick in 2017 who spent his first four NFL seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, has 220 receptions for 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns in 107 games. Over those seven seasons, he averaged 13.3 yards per catch.
