Bozeman – Additional hunter education classes are scheduled at several locations in southwestern Montana. Registration for many of these classes is now open or will open soon.
All face-to-face classes are free. To take the Hunter Education classroom course, a student must be at least 10 years old. To take a Bowhunter Education course, a student must be at least 11 years old.
The following hunter education classroom courses are scheduled for the area.
- Twin Bridges: From March 25th
- Whitehall: from 3 April
- Butte: Starting April 8th.
- Bozeman: Starting April 8th
- West Yellowstone: Starting April 13th.
- Dillon: From April 22nd.
- Logan: Starting May 6th
- Helena: From May 17th
- West Yellowstone: Starting June 10th.
- Logan: From July 15th
- Livingston: From August 1st.
A classroom course in bowhunter education is scheduled for April 8 at Twin Bridges. Bowhunter education classes are also planned in Butte and Ennis, but have not yet been finalized.
Students ages 12 to 17 who take Hunter or Bowhunter Education online must complete an in-person field day. A field day for online hunter education students will be held in Logan on April 20th.

Hunter, Bowhunter, and Trapper education classes are taught by seasoned volunteer instructors and provide students with a hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to ask questions of experienced instructors. Students will learn how to safely handle firearms and archery equipment, basic survival skills, hunting ethics, wildlife management, game animal identification, landowner-hunter relations, and Montana hunting laws and regulations. .
Montana law requires anyone born after January 1, 1985 to complete a hunter education class or qualify as a youth apprentice hunter before purchasing a Montana hunting license. Masu.
