Alice Pope has been named Novant Health's new executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Pope, who has more than 30 years of experience, will begin his new role with the health system on May 13. Most recently, Mr. Pope served as his CFO at her Inova Health System in Virginia. She also served as her CFO for HonorHealth in Arizona and Wellmont Health System in Tennessee.
Carl S. Armato, President and CEO of Novant Health, praised Pope's experience and leadership qualities.
“Alice brings a collaborative, results-oriented mindset along with outstanding qualifications for achieving exceptional financial performance,” Armato said in a statement. “Adding a leader like Alice to our board of directors aligns with our goal of hiring the best talent and expertise to lead Novant Health to remarkable heights.”
Novant Health, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has recently expanded its operations. In February, the health system completed its $2.4 billion acquisition of three South Carolina hospitals from Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
Novant also plans to acquire two hospitals in North Carolina from Community Health Systems, a for-profit system based in Tennessee, in a $320 million deal.
Grady Health Chief Financial Officer named COO
Anthony Saul has served as chief financial officer at Grady Health in Atlanta since 2021 and now has additional responsibilities.
In addition to overseeing the health system's finances, Saul will now serve as Grady's senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.

John Haupert, Grady's president and CEO, said Saul is “passionate about our company's mission to improve the health of our communities.”
“His new COO role will allow him to work collaboratively with our care teams to advance our goal of providing the highest quality care possible to Atlanta and the Southeast region.” Haupert said in a statement.
Mr. Saul also served as Grady's senior vice president of finance for several years. Prior to joining Grady, Saul served as Vice President of Finance at his LCMC Health.
ChristianaCare creates chief medical officer position at Wilmington Hospital
Emmanuel Mensah, MD, MBA, has been named chief medical officer of ChristianaCare's Wilmington Hospital.
Dr. Mensah serves as a senior physician executive at Wilmington Hospital, where he is responsible for quality, safety, clinical outcomes, and patient experience.
The system said he has a long-standing focus on health care equity and eliminating disparities in underserved communities.
Prior to joining ChristianaCare, Dr. Mensah served as Managing Director of the Global Health Equity Integrative Science Center, a collaborating center of the World Health Organization, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He also served as chief of medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
He has also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.
HCA Midwest Health Names Director of Medical Education
Eric Quirion has been named vice president of graduate medical education at HCA Midwest Health.
Quirion has over 17 years of experience in graduate medical education. For the past seven years, Quirion has held leadership positions in her GME program at HCA Healthcare. Most recently, he served as Assistant Vice President for Graduate Medical Education for the HCA Gulf Coast Division.
“To be able to lead an effort to inspire and guide the next generation of physicians to care for and improve human lives by focusing on patient-centered approaches to practicing the latest evidence-based medicine. FOLX Health names chief human resources officer
Greg Sottorano has been named chief human resources officer at FOLX Health, an organization that provides health services to the LGBTQ+ community.
Mr. Sottorano most recently led Visa's Global Learning Delivery team and co-chaired Visa's Global LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group. He also founded McDonald's first LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group and co-chaired Visa's Global LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group.
He has served on various boards of directors, including executive committee and president of Alpha Kappa Psi, the oldest and largest coeducational professional business fraternity.
FOLX Health cited Sottorano's “passion for championing underserved and underrepresented communities” and experience leading human resources strategies for large corporations.
