A sold-out crowd of 120 bargain-hunting fashionistas had the opportunity to shop to their heart's content at Guadalupe Resale Shoppe's annual Runway for Education Fashion Show & Private Sale.
At the March 10 event, 13 volunteer models walked the runway wearing designer fashion pulled straight from the resale shop's showroom floor. Elegant women model beautiful cocktail and party dresses, business wear, formal wear, casual wear, and sportswear, complementing their outfits with exquisite handbags, jewelry, hats, and shoes.
Designer brands featured on Runway for Education include Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Emilio Pucci, Calvin Klein, and more. LA Rockler's full-length white fox fur coat drew the loudest cheers from attendees. The silent auction featured Bulova and Swarovski watches, as well as a selection of dazzling necklaces, bracelets, handbags and gift baskets.
“First-time visitors are often surprised by the quality of the products we offer, including designer dresses and handbags that still have their original tags.” said Griesel Leon, Guadalupe Resale Store Manager and Fashion Show Coordinator. “Our clothing selection is best described as 'affordable elegance' and our fashion show brought that to the forefront.”
All items worn on the runway were available for purchase at an exclusive post-show shopping event. Guests also enjoyed light snacks, wine, and sweet treats.
Proceeds from the fashion show will enhance educational programs at the nonprofit Guadalupe Center in Immokalee. Each year, her resale shop generates nearly $1 million in sales, benefiting students and their families whose lives are being transformed through education.
Volunteer models include Amanda Elias, Anne Schuschman, Barb Wendt, Cheri Mooney, Jodi Petkovic, Karen May, Kritia Silva-Benitez, Lori Palette, Linda Woods, Margie Killeen, Rosita Gilsenan, Stacey Smith and Susan Minter were included.
