The 2024 Idaho State University Health Fair will once again offer numerous free and low-cost health care services, health information booths, and family-friendly activities for the entire community.
The event will be held on March 28 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the ISU Pond Student Union Building Ballroom in Pocatello. The event will feature ISU's Kasiska Department of Health Sciences (KDHS) clinic, health degree programs, and community health partners including Portneuf's Medical Center, Health West.
New this year, we'll focus on kids and toddlers, with a full day of interactive activities and food demos on healthy habits for kids of all ages.
At the new Teddy Bengal Clinic, the first 50 children will receive a free Bengal stuffed animal. The children are working with ISU nursing students to perform a “regular health check” on the stuffed animals from 3 to 6 p.m.
KDHS faculty and students offer free health screening services, including:
- Teddy Bengal Clinic 3pm to 6pm
- Nutrition and Dietetics will have food demonstrations from 3 to 6 p.m.
- 9am – Energy Byte
- 10:30am – Smoothie
- 12pm – Salsa and chips
- 1:30pm – Protein dip and vegetables
- 4:30pm – After-school snack
- Blood pressure, pulse, height and weight assessment by ISU nursing faculty and students
- Screening for depression and anxiety by ISU Psychology Clinic faculty and students
- Fall Risk Screening by ISU Physical Therapy Faculty and Students
- Foot assessment and care by ISU nursing faculty and students
- Hearing Screening by ISU Audiology Faculty and Students
- Laboratory services provided by Portneuf Medical Center and ISU Medical Lab Sciences faculty and students
- Drug reviews and ratings by ISU Pharmacy faculty and students
- Oral health checkup by ISU dental hygienist students
- Traumatic Brain Injury Screening by ISU Counseling Clinic Faculty and Students
Health Fair blood tests are always offered at highly discounted rates. Participants can perform the following tests for $43.00.
- HDL, LDL VDL cholesterol test
- Neutral fat test
- blood sugar test
- liver, kidney, muscle, and heart functions
- complete blood count
- Thyroid stimulating hormone test
Other blood screening tests are also available. Participants do not need to fast for blood to be drawn.

ISU's Benny's Pantry accepts infant and child essentials such as diapers/wipes, snacks for children, formula, baby food, shampoo for babies/children, small toothbrushes, vitamins, and Tylenol for children.
