Lee Ann Kwiatkowski, director of public education and CEO of Muncie Community Schools (MCS), will retire at the end of this year. She will be replaced by Charles (Chuck) Reynolds, a Muncie Southside alumnus and longtime district administrator, according to a statement from MCS Chief Communications Officer Andy Klotz.
“This decision was incredibly difficult for me,” Kwiatkowski said in a statement. “I have come to love the people of Muncie and am very proud of what we have accomplished at Muncie Community Schools over the past five years. However, my family welcomes me to live near Muncie. I am.”
Kwiatkowski's last day will be June 30th.
Reynolds has served as MCS' assistant superintendent since 2019, overseeing all kindergarten through 12th grade in the district.th Academic year instructional programs and initiatives. Reynolds is involved in the Muncie community by serving in various leadership positions on community-wide boards and has received multiple community awards, including the Key to the City Award, the “Muncie Difference Maker” Award and the Muncie Citizenship Award, according to the statement. has been awarded.
