Participating states move their clocks forward one hour on the second Sunday in March in the spring. Daylight saving time ends on the first Sunday in November each fall, and states set their clocks back one hour.
In the United States, clocks will officially move forward at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
When our clocks are “fast-forwarded” we lose an hour of sleep, and when daylight saving time begins we move an hour forward at 2am.
Once DST ends in the fall, clocks will go “backwards” by one hour in November. That's when people get an hour of sleep.

Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D.N.J.) told The Hill in July that efforts to find an agreement on daylight saving time remain unsuccessful, with more emphasis on geography than partisan arguments. Told.
“The problem is, a lot of people say to me, 'Oh, I shouldn't have to switch back and forth, I should just use standard mode or daylight saving time,' but I don't know which one to choose. We disagree about whether it should be enacted,” Pallone told The Hill.
“So, that's the problem. If you're going to do it just once, there has to be a consensus on what that would be, and we don't have a consensus on that yet.”
The Sunshine Protection Act of 2023 has been sitting in the House of Representatives all year.
