GROVE CITY — Atwater Cosmos Grove City Elementary School students learned about the importance of oral health on Feb. 15 through the Delta Dental Foundation of Minnesota's Smiles@School program.
February is Pediatric Dental Health Month in Minnesota, and Delta Dental wanted to do its part by delivering more than 50,000 dental health kits across the state.
A press release from Delta Dental states that each kit “includes important oral health resources such as a toothbrush, fluoride toothpaste, floss, timer, water bottle, and oral health education booklet.”
“Pediatric Dental Health Month is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of oral health for Minnesota's children, and the Minnesota Dental Association is proud to support dental professionals in our shared goal of improving the health of our communities. We are proud to work with our partners in the industry,” said Carmelo Cinqueonce, executive director of the Minnesota Dental Association, in a release.
The program aims to donate children to 628 schools in Minnesota, an increase of more than 50% from the 2023 campaign.
