The billionaire made the remarks Wednesday while speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecommunications conference. According to Reuters, Musk said he thought displaying such details would make the platform look cluttered.
This is not the first time Musk has proposed major changes to Company X since he acquired it in October 2022.
Musk said in August that Company X would remove all link headlines posted on the platform. He said this would greatly improve the aesthetics of the site.
The change was ultimately introduced in October, but Musk reversed the decision less than two months later.Musk said in an article: ×post On November 22nd, X announced that it would display the article title “above the image in the URL card.”
“No, the title will be overlaid at the top of the image and the URL will be overlaid at the bottom. This is the same as now. No extra vertical pixels will be used,” Musk said, confirming that he had reversed his decision. This is what he said when he was teased by a user. “I hate those big, ugly URL cards.”
A representative for Mr. Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider outside of normal business hours.
