The two robberies cost the store more than $5,000, according to a Dublin Police Department incident report.
DUBLIN, Ga. — In downtown Dublin, a small business is recovering from two robberies in two weeks.
CBD Source on West Jackson Street sells hemp and CBD products.
In January, we also covered a CBD store in Centerville that was also broken into. They lost thousands of dollars on cannabis products.
The Dublin store had a broken door due to break-ins on February 13th and March 1st. Owner Joseph Rodholt said it was confusing both times.
“It was kind of a strange robbery because he was only after a specific product. There was no money, nothing else. It was just a strange occurrence,” Rodholt said.
Roedholt said the person primarily came for more than a dozen jars of loose marijuana flower and pre-packaged marijuana flower.
The loss from the two robberies was $5,033, according to a Dublin Police incident report.
Lordholt had CCTV cameras installed in the store and shared these photos with Dublin Police.
“When I first saw the video and was able to see his face and his movements, I instantly recognized who it was because he was wearing the exact same clothes,” Rodholt said. .
Based on their height and facial features, they believe they are the same person. In both cases, the intruders left behind the objects they used to break into the store in the same area of the store.
Mr Lordholt said that on Monday night and early Tuesday morning, someone from Dublin Police Station was seen on camera visiting his business to check on him about once an hour.
“I'm grateful for that, but it was like two weeks and two robberies from the same guy leading up to it,” Rodholt said.
He said he would like to see more patrols of downtown areas, not only during the day but also at night.
Dublin Police Mjr. Eric Rowland said that despite being short-staffed, there are always two officers on duty at night, and their patrol area includes downtown. There are also police officers patrolling downtown Dublin from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday.
“I know we're short staffed, but we don't know that. I mean, last night was the first time in two weeks that I felt safe,” he said.
Rodholt is offering a personal reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the person who broke into the store.
