The top cryptocurrencies had a mixed performance today as some altcoins fell sharply as Bitcoin (BTC) price neared the $64,000 level. Additionally, the price of Ethereum also traded above $3,400. Meanwhile, other top altcoins such as Solana (SOL) and XRP declined in value, while Cardano (ADA) rose noticeably.

Bitcoin price remained above $62,000. The price of Bitcoin increased by 2.52%, reaching $63,610.46 at the time of writing on Monday, March 4th. Meanwhile, trading volume surged 59.70% to $34.46 billion in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the market capitalization of virtual currencies boasted $1.24 trillion.
Turning to altcoins, at the time of writing, the price of Ethereum rose 1.34% to $3,483.83, giving it a market valuation of $418.58 billion. Meanwhile, ETH trading volume increased by 37.65% to reach $16 billion. Meanwhile, Binance Coin (BNB) price increased by 0.67% to reach $415.13. Furthermore, the 24-hour trading volume surged to $1.93 billion, an increase of 38.10%.
Solana's price bucked the upward momentum and fell below the $130 mark. Solana price fell by 0.19% to settle at 129.80. In contrast, SOL saw its trading volume drop by 36.47% to $3.27 billion in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, XRP price remained above the $0.63 level despite the recent pullback. XRP price recorded a decline of 1.01% and settled at $0.6319. Additionally, XRP trading volume decreased by 4.50% to $2.21 billion.
Meanwhile, Cardano price rose by 0.91% to $0.7467 today. On the other hand, ADA recorded a significant decrease of 13.85% in 24-hour trading volume, settling at $1.08 billion. As the maximum price of cryptocurrencies fluctuated, the meme coin space was also affected. Dogecoin price rose 10.91% to $0.1585, while rival Shiba Inu registered a 2.25% gain and traded at $0.00002277.
