The City of Coconut Creek offers innovative programs designed for the youngest scientists.
The program, called “From Toddlers to Scientists,” aims to spark curiosity and a love of science in children ages 2 to 4 through engaging, hands-on experiments.
The program emphasizes the importance of parent involvement and requires one parent per child to participate, ensuring a shared learning experience.
According to the city, the “Toddler to Scientist” program will offer three different sessions focused on different areas of science. Sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Session 1: Smart Chemistry, Wednesday, March 20th
- Session 2: Candy Concoction Wednesday, April 17th. Candy is not used as a snack, but as the main experimental material.
- Session 3: Physics Fun, Wednesday, May 15th
Each session runs from 10am to 10:45am and is designed to be both educational and fun, allowing children to explore the wonders of science in a playful and immersive environment. Due to the practical nature of the experiment, participants are encouraged to wear clothes that they don't mind getting dirty.
The program is affordable at $15 per session for Coconut Creek residents and $25 for non-residents, making it accessible to a wide range of families. Sessions will be held at the Recreation Complex located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
Registration for the From Toddler to Scientist program is now open and will continue until capacity is reached, with a maximum of 10 participants per session to ensure an intimate and focused setting.
Interested families can register online through the city's WebTrac system at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or Community Center located at 1100 Lyons Road.
