About Lorna Luft
Lorna Luft is the daughter of actresses Judy Garland and Sidney Luft. Her half-sister is Liza Minnelli.
According to Luft's biography page on iMDB, she had an “idyllic childhood” until her parents divorced and she faced her mother's drug addiction.
“My mother was a wonderful human being and had a talent that will never be seen again. And yes, my mother was addicted to prescription drugs,” Luft said.
“In the end, no one could have saved her. We didn't have the knowledge, education, and equipment that we have now.”
Luft, who wrote the 2018 New York Times bestseller “A Star Is Born: Judy Garland and the Missing Movies,” fell into addiction just like her mother, according to a DEC news release. She will share her journey to sobriety during her luncheon.
