Berlin, New Hampshire – New Hampshire State Police cancel An Amber Alert was issued Friday morning after two missing girls were found safe. The alert was issued after a mother was found dead in a house in Berlin.
The girls were believed to be with their father, Dustin Duren. New Hampshire State Police have not yet said whether he has been found and have not yet released the whereabouts of his daughters.
Minutes after the announcement at Massachusetts State Police in New Hampshire. tweeted “The suspect is in custody in Keene, New Hampshire.”
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said it all started with a suspicious death Thursday night. Police found the body of 31-year-old Caitlin Nafziger in an apartment on Main Street in Berlin.
“As part of the investigation, authorities have issued an Amber Alert asking for the public's assistance,” Formella said in a statement.
Formella said her two children, a 4-year-old girl and a 1-year-old girl, were seen with their biological father, Dustin Mark Duren, 37, in Berlin, New Hampshire, on Thursday around 8 p.m. It is said that he was last seen.
New Hampshire State Police released photos early Friday of all three men and the car he may have been driving.
State police said Duren was “possibly armed and dangerous,” but provided no other details.
Berlin is located in northern New Hampshire, about three hours north of Boston.
No other information is available at this time in the investigation.
