Manchester Commission extends police contract
NEW FRANKLIN — The Manchester Regional School Board approved the continuation of a police services agreement with the City of New Franklin at its Feb. 21 meeting. The three-year contract includes one district resource officer. There is a separate contract from other resource personnel in the district.
Also during the meeting, board member Joe Hercules shared updates on construction projects in the district. The first floor of the new high school has been painted, the roof is complete and the separate wrestling room and weight room are nearly complete, he said. Hercules added that it has signed a contract to convert an existing high school into an elementary school and has opened tenders.
In other business, the Board of Directors approved:
• Membership in the district's Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2024-25 school year.
• 2024-25 and 2025-26 school calendars.
-Intervention specialist Joanie Milleville will retire at the end of this year.and
• Receive a $10,053 donation from the Norley PTA for Norley Elementary School.
After the meeting, the board went into executive session to address personnel issues, but no action was taken.
The next meeting is scheduled for March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, 6075 Manchester Road.
