RED OAK, Iowa – Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced the Small Business of the Week award to Merrill Manufacturing of Buena Vista County . Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize small businesses in all of his 99 counties in Iowa.
“For three generations, the Merrill family has achieved success by putting our values and service at the forefront of our business.” said ranking member Ernst. “With a commitment to ingenuity and 23 product patents, Merrill Manufacturing is a leader in the water systems industry and continues to serve the needs of farmers in Iowa and around the world.”
Merrill Manufacturing began in Clive's small garage where founder Noel Merrill Anderson invented the Any Flow Yard Hydrant, a freeze-resistant faucet designed to meet the needs of cold-weather agriculture. Today, Merrill Manufacturing sells yard pumps to rural, farm, and livestock facilities around the world. Over the years, the company has moved from Clive to Storm Lake and grown to 65 employees, but remains dedicated to the values that guided it when it was founded. This company gives back by working to provide clean drinking water to American communities that don't have access to it.
Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with this week's Small Business of the Year Award.
