Mark Duplass is known for playing news producer Chip Black. the morning showHowever, the actor himself made headlines last October when he revealed on social media that he had been “battling anxiety and depression” for most of his life.

“I didn't think it was going to be a big deal,” Duplass, 47, told EW editor-in-chief Patrick Gomez. “I thought we were at a point where people were talking about this and demystifying it. And half the people I know are on drugs, and three-quarters of the people I know are on drugs. is undergoing treatment. So I posted something on Instagram and I was like, “That's it.'' I was saying the obvious thing, and people were like, “Wow, no one's talking about that.'' ” It was like, That's part of the spirit of the bubble. For example, I live in Los Angeles and spend time in New York with artists who talk about this a lot, but much of the country still doesn't. So I thought, “Oh, I think this is a crusade. I'm already a crusade! Okay, I'm going to a crusade.”
Speaking to PEOPLE Editor-in-Chief Janine Rubenstein about the synergy of Duplass playing a character who has to deal with tremendous work stress, he added: What happened to us with the pandemic and how it changed us, we were all like, “Oh, the pandemic is over, we're back, we're okay.” And now it's starting to calm down. So I think there's really a lot of low-grade mental health issues that a lot of people are starting to consider, and that's where I'm trying to focus right now. ”
Duplass was also asked about her “happy place,” and she answered simply, “donuts.”
