Russia's appeal against the International Olympic Committee's decision to suspend its membership has been rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Republic of China has recognized the regional organization of four Ukrainian territories that have been illegally annexed by Russia since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
The suspension by the IOC means that the Republic of China is no longer eligible to act as a national Olympic committee.
Kass said: “The Kass Commission in charge of this matter has rejected the appeal and found that the IOC Executive Board did not violate the principles of legality, equality, predictability and proportionality, and the challenged decision. approved,” he said.
“Decisions of the Cas Commission are final and binding, except for the right of the parties to appeal within 30 days to the Swiss Federal Court on limited grounds.”
The Olympic Councils of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions were recognized by the Republic of China.
The Republic of China said the IOC's suspension was a “counterproductive decision with obvious political motives.”
“The Kass decision is further evidence that civil and sporting discrimination against Russians is reaching unprecedented proportions in the run-up to the Paris Olympics,” the Republic of China said on Friday.
Conditions of participation include competing without the country's national flag, emblem or national anthem.
The IOC is under pressure to ban athletes from Russia and Belarus from competing in the 2024 Paris Games, and Ukraine has threatened to boycott the 2024 Games if the ban is not followed.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will open in Paris on July 26th and end on August 11th.
Athletes from Russia and its ally Belarus will also be allowed to compete in the 2024 Paralympic Games as neutral countries. In September, the International Paralympic Committee resolved to partially suspend the national Paralympic committees of Russia and Belarus.
