ATKINSON COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – An Atkinson School System employee recently passed away after 26 years in the education system.
The Atkinson County School System released this statement following his passing.
“We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Dr. Bonita Bell Bryant, interim principal at Willacoochee Elementary School and assistant principal at Atkinson County Middle School. With this shocking news, we We extend our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers to the family of Mr. She graduated from Atkinson County High School in 2007 and has 26 years of teaching experience in the Atkinson County School System. During that time, she worked in various capacities including classroom teacher, instructional coach, and administrator.
Dr. Bryant was an extraordinary educator, beloved leader, and mentor to many. Her unwavering dedication to her family, students, and community touched countless lives and was truly inspiring. Her legacy will forever be etched in the halls of Willacoochee Elementary School, Atkinson County Middle School and other schools.
May the Atkinson County community find strength, support, and unity during this difficult time. We know that her legacy of hard work, guidance, and leadership will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

No funeral plans have been announced at this time.
