SWOSU press release
Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is pleased to announce upcoming events to support educational benefits for veterans. Representatives from the Muskogee Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office will be at SWOSU on Tuesday, February 20th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to provide guidance and assistance.
This event will be held in the Mesquite Room of the Timothy T. Day Business Enterprise Center on the SWOSU Weatherford Campus. Veterans, their spouses, and dependents are invited to participate in this information session designed to address questions and concerns regarding veteran education benefits.
At this event, attendees will have the opportunity to speak with two representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs. These can be used to address a wide range of concerns, including eligibility, payment issues, and uncovering additional benefits that the veteran may not be aware of. Current students, community members, and families of veterans are all welcome to participate and seek personalized assistance.
“As a veteran and GI Bill recipient, I know firsthand how complicated veteran education benefits can seem,” said Vance Morgan, Veterans and International Student Services Coordinator. “Don't miss this opportunity to speak directly with a VA expert and have any questions answered.”
Those interested in participating are encouraged to contact the SWOSU Office of School Accreditation Officer at 580-774-3004 to schedule a visit or obtain more information .
The University would like to warmly welcome veterans, their families and community members to attend this session and take advantage of the expertise and support available.
