Looking for accessories: The 2024-2025 enrollment period for Jenks Public Schools Kindergarten and Kindergarten opens at 9 a.m. Monday. Students currently attending kindergarten at JPS will not need to re-enroll for the 2024-25 school year.
Meanwhile, Broken Arrow Public Schools will host “All Things Pre-K” at the Educational Services Center, 701 S. Main St., on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. The in-person forum will explain admission details, curriculum, and daily schedule. Staff from other BAPS departments will also be in attendance to answer questions. The district's registration window opens on March 4th.
Child care will be available for children ages 3 to 5th grade during the Forum.
New board members: At Monday night's meeting, the Glenpool School Board appointed Michael Rein to fill the vacant District 2 seat. He replaces Lynn Wessel, who tendered her resignation in December.

Return to the beginning: In response to public input, the union postponed setting the 2024-25 calendar until the March 11 school board meeting. Currently, two options are being considered: having classes start 40 minutes later every Friday, and having students leave school 40 minutes earlier on Fridays.

Verified calendar: The Sapulpa Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved the district's 2024-25 calendar on Tuesday. As approved, the new school year for students will begin on August 15th and end on May 20th, with graduation scheduled for May 16th.
Lone Star, the dependent territory that funds Sapulpa, also set a 2024-25 academic calendar. Per the approval, the school will begin classes on Aug. 15 and the school year will end on May 9 if none of the five built-in snow days are utilized.
Hornets go to the hole: Ten members of the Booker T. Washington community were announced Tuesday as the latest inductees into the school's Hall of Fame.
This year's inductees include Tulsa restaurateur Libby Billings, E.W. Woods Memorial organizer Captra Dunn, Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett, and Canadian Football League Hall of Fame defensive tackle Ed McQuarters, singer Paulette Parker, Reverend MC Potter, three former teachers, Barbara Coleman, Anthony Marshall, and state Rep. John Waldron.
Winners will be recognized at a dinner scheduled for April 4 at the Greenwood Cultural Center.
Shell shaking: Sapulpa Public Schools' Indian Education Program will hold an arts and crafts show at Sapulpa High School on Saturday from 2:00 p.m., followed by a community dinner in the school's common area from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a Stomp Show at Sapulpa High School. A dance is held.The school's old gymnasium starts at 7 p.m.
Teacher Award: The Oklahoma Excellence Foundation announced Wednesday the five 2024 Excellence Award recipients.
Awarded annually to five educators involved in public education. The 2024 recipients are Jay Upper Elementary School fifth grade science teacher Jennifer Goldner, Claremore High School English teacher Jill Andrews, Lawton Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Hime, and Northeastern State University Broken Arrow. Sapna Das-Bradoo, professor of biology and interim dean of the College of Natural Sciences, and Greg Burge, professor and chair of the University of Oklahoma's economics department.
The five will be recognized at the foundation's annual gala scheduled for May 4 in Norman.
Stay home day: All school districts and charter schools in the Tulsa area will be closed Monday for President's Day.
Tuesday is professional development day for Tulsa and Union.
Board of Education calendar: The Bartlesville School Board is scheduled to meet Monday.
The boards of directors for College Bound Academy, Tulsa Classical Academy and Tulsa Honor Academy are scheduled to meet Tuesday.
The Woodland Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting Wednesday.
