Leonardtown, Maryland – The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) is pleased to announce a new Public Health Junior Fellowship for high school and college students studying at St. Mary’s County educational institutions. SMCHD is currently accepting applications to pilot this fellowship program, which will run from March to June 2024.
The Public Health Junior Fellowship allows St. Mary's County high school and college students to learn about community health issues during the school year while building leadership skills. Her 2024 pilot of the fellowship program will run from March to June and will help develop her future year-long fellowship experience. Selected Junior Fellows will participate in health department programs for youth and young adults, guide future health department initiatives for their age group, and promote health and wellness in the greater community. coordinate their respective school peer groups.
