The Audubon Community Nature Center will be hosting several summer learning opportunities.
Summer day camp is an opportunity for children to strengthen their foundation in the natural world, expand their knowledge, and grow through play and exploration. During the eight-week day camp, children ages 4 to 14 play, explore, learn, build, grow, and experiment in fields, forests, ponds, and swamps. Some sessions are already at capacity, but a brochure with all camp details is available at her AudubonCNC.org/DayCamp, where you can also register.
Applications for day camp scholarships are available until May 1 at AudubonCNC.org/scholarships. For answers to your questions, please contact our Education Coordinator, Sarah Hatfield, at 716-569-2345 or email her at SHatfield@AudubonCNC.org.
Internships are a way for upperclassmen ages 15-24 to gain experience in a camp environment and discover a passion for conservation and education. Paid and unpaid internships are available depending on age and experience.
Interns will learn skills such as lesson planning, group management, developmentally appropriate activities for different ages, and how to use the natural world as a classroom.
If your school supports the program, applications for unpaid internships for students ages 15 to 18 are available by arrangement with your high school and career guidance counselor. Other volunteer and service positions are available for students ages 13 to 18 through the Counselor-in-Training/Junior Counselor (CIT/JC) section of the day camp page (AudubonCNC.org/DayCamp).
Paid internship information is available at AudubonCNC.org/Jobs and applications are being accepted until March 10th.
Application information for the Summer Invasive Species Management Assistant position is also available at AudubonCNC.org/Jobs. Applications will be accepted until March 15th.
