The Brewers are gearing up for the 2024 season, but the exact details of how to watch this season are still a little hazy. Amazon made an investment in Bally Sports in January that could help it emerge from bankruptcy hearings. This investment includes the right to stream games on Amazon Prime Video. Bally Sports only has streaming rights for five teams, and the Brewers are one of them. Last season, the company launched his Bally Sports+ package, offering in-market streaming his package for $20 per month. However, things could change once the 2024 MLB season begins.
As of now, here are the expected ways to watch the Brewers in 2024.
- If you're watching from outside of your market, MLB.TV is still your best bet. It's still the same today.
- Even if you're watching in your market with a cable or satellite package, you'll need to find a TV provider that carries Bally Sports. That hasn't changed even now.
- If you're watching in-market and want to stream games, that's TBA. Amazon is expected to offer packages for streaming games through Amazon Prime Video, and viewing games will require a subscription to the Prime Video service. It has not yet been announced whether additional subscriptions will be required. It may not be available in time for the start of the season, but for now you can stream games with the Bally Sports+ package.
More details will be revealed as the season approaches. It is important to note that this is only his 2024 season at this time. Bally Sports still needs planning approval to emerge from bankruptcy, and those hearings will continue throughout the season. There is also talk that MLB will launch its own in-market streaming as early as 2025, but little has been made clear about that possibility. Even if this new service were to launch, there is no guarantee that the Brewers would be on board if Bally Sports retained the streaming rights.
Next season's new contract provides stability until 2024. However, the full situation with Bally Sports is still not resolved. For now, we can have some peace of mind that we will be able to watch games this season. You may also be able to watch through a new service that brings higher quality to streaming broadcasts.
