cincinnati – 17 University of Cincinnati student-athletes received the Arthur Ashe Junior Athletic Scholar Award. Diversity: Issues in higher education.
Eleven of the award winners were female student-athletes, with basketball and soccer leading the way with three each.
This award recognizes students of color who excel in the classroom as well as on the athletic field. Inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr.'s commitment to education and love of tennis, U.S. universities are invited to participate in this annual awards program by nominating outstanding sports scholars.
